Madalin Hotel Tivoli NY
The Hotel

Welcome to the Madalin Hotel, a beautifully restored historic landmark in the heart of Tivoli NY on the beautiful Hudson River. A success with weekenders, vacationers, Bard College visitors and others—even Mikhail Baryshnikov enjoyed a night here.

The hotel, built in 1909, was completely restored by its new owners in 2006, and takes its name from the old name of the Village at the turn of the century, Madalin. Now Tivoli, the village was once comprised of the Village of Madalin and the Village of Tivoli, and Madalin Hotel was, and still is, its heart.

This turn-of-the-century building, with its ornately carved nineteen foot bar, intimate, softly lit dining room, and guest rooms tastefully decorated in antique furnishings, will take you back to a time when life was simpler, the pace was slower, and foods were locally produced.

The Madalin Hotel has 11 rooms, each decorated with period antiques primarily in the Eastlake style. The rooms, while evocative of the past, are hip, crisp and are fully equipped with private bathroom, flat screen TV, phone, wired and wireless internet and air-conditioning. Each room has either a queen or king sized bed. Room rates range from $199-$299 per night and there is a 2-night minimum stay in high season.

Whether you're staying two days, a week, or a long weekend, this treasure in the heart of the Hudson Valley is central to riverfront shopping, fine dining, skiing, hiking or just exploring the many antique shops or relaxing on the wrap-around veranda with a cocktail. Located minutes from Bard College, Rhinebeck, Hudson, the Berkshires and more.

Praised by The New York Times, Hudson Valley Magazine, and reviewers from Albany to New York City, The Madalin Hotel is truly a one-of-a-kind gem. "Madalin's Table offers both the casual and the fancy, the hearty and the sophisticated, with equal success!" —The New York Times

A couple comments from our visitors:

"The hotel is simply beautiful—meticulously restored and totally reinvented. It is charming but so incredibly sleek—not a nic-nac in sight! Everything you need but no clutter. No dusty drapes, no dust at all! I was in a queen room with 4 poster bed—high quality linens in earthtones balanced the preserved architectural details of the room with not a bit of chintz in the bedding! The hi-tech bathroom was spotless and gleaming—no noisy plumbing or questionable shower curtains to deal with. What you do at the Madalin in Tivoli is simple—have a delicious dinner at the hotel's fabulous restaurant, go upstairs to enjoy a perfectly quiet and pleasant night's rest, and leave in the morning for a lovely day in the valley." —contheroad, Tripadvisor.com, july 2008

"The Madalin does not have a B&B vibe. It is a real hotel, albeit small, with just 11 rooms. Finicky friends have stayed there without complaint; our ‘easier’ friends have only accolades." —Carey Maloney, rural intelligence, June 2010
